Macron Rolls Out The Red Carpet For Xi: State Dinner At Elysee Palace In France

Chinese President Xi Jinping took part in a state dinner at the Elysee presidential palace on Monday (May 6) in Paris, as he began his first trip to Europe in five years.
The visit comes at a time of growing business tensions that include the European Union investigating Chinese industries such as electric vehicle exports, while Beijing probes mostly French-made brandy imports.
Macron is set take Xi to the Pyrenees on Tuesday (May 7), a mountainous region dear to the French president as the birthplace of his maternal grandmother.
The Chinese President will then leave France for Serbia before completing his European tour in Hungary.
